When my friend told me that he had purchased "Wake Up" a collaboration album with The Roots and John Legend, I initially did not care too much. I had him burn it on my computer to see what it was about and I remember saying to myself, I'm never going to listen to any of these songs. Boy was I wrong!
Ever since I started to listen to the songs and started digest the lyrics, I have been in love with the album. Love, one of the main themes throughout the album, is expressed so well through the soulful voice of John Legend, along with the soothing instruments of The Roots.
The album definitely has a 70's feel to it like it was apart of Motown and Diana Ross and The Supremes. The songs are such feel good songs and took me from being in a bad mood, to being grateful for the simple things in life. The album is very inspiring to society as a song titled "Wake Up Everybody," talks about how we all need to wake up and change the world together as one.
The lyrics are simple, but convey such a strong and imperative message for our generation. So if you are looking for a album about peace, love, and happiness, look no more "Wake Up" is the album that you need to acquire if you have not already. Without a doubt the best album of 2010, so go get it!

Roethlisberger or Rodgers, Which would you take?
Two Quarterbacks who have the ability to make a play when it looks like the play is over, but which one would you rather have.
Both are first round draft picks, Ben in 2004, Rodgers in 2005. They both can move their feet when needed too, Rodgers is quicker, and Ben is stronger when escaping the pocket.
Rodgers has amazing career regular season numbers, as he is the NFL all time leader in passer rating, (98.4), during the regular season. However, as he waited for Farve to retire, he lost a couple of years and won his first postseason game this year against Philadelphia.
On the other hand, Ben does not have the flashiest numbers when it comes to regular season statistics, but he is 2 for 2 when it comes to Superbowl victories. He won in his second year, which made him the youngest QB to win a Superbowl, at 23.
Both players have a knack of performing well under pressure and creating game winning drives. The game maybe decided depending on which Quarterback has the ball last, but which guy would I take? The one who has 2 rings and a chip on his shoulder after sexual assault charges got him suspended for the first 4 games of the regular season.

Big Ben is at it Again; 3rd Super Bowl Appearence in 6 years
Although his numbers were not great in the AFC Championship game, Ben still pulls off the win against the tough Jets who would not go down without a fight.
Not too long ago, Ben Roethlisberger was suspended the first 4 games of the season for.. (we know what), but has the resilience to bounce back from social chaos and carry his team to the Super Bowl. Winning this one will only anger those who believe he was guilty.
It's hard to put your money against someone who has the second highest winning percentage total in Post season history only behind Bart Starr. his 10-2 record leaves him at No.8 in all time wins in the playoffs, better than Peyton Manning and right behind Tom Brady.
Although the numbers of Brady and Peyton Manning are better than Big Ben, Ben has a freakish body for a quarterback which gives him the intangibles that the other two wish they had. An example, stiff arming a whimpy tackler and throwing the ball down field simultaneously. His ability to make plays when the play seems dead is why he is playing for his 3rd Super Bowl. I'll take him over the other two guys.
If Ben can manage to win this Super Bowl against the Packers, it will be his 3rd which would tie him with Brady as most Super Bowls among active players. He is a hall of famer in my eyes when its all said and done, and he may have the most Super Bowl rings as a starting QB, only trailing Montana and Bradshaw who have 4 each.

Knicks lose fifth straight as the Spurs get even
Although the Knicks put up 128 points in their first meeting against the San Antonio Spurs, the Spurs took care of business as they avenge themselves with a 101-92 victory at home.
Tim Duncan and Tony Parker led the way with 21 points each. Parker added 13 assists and Duncan snagged 16 Rebounds. DeJuan Blair had a nice outing as well putting up 18 points with 13 rebounds as the size and strength of the Spurs was too much for the undersized Knicks to handle.
Mike D'Antoni started Ronnie Turiaf in an effort to help the defensive front for the Knicks which did not help at all. His assignment was Duncan and by the end of the first quarter, Duncan already had nine points with five rebounds.
Along with poor defense, which is a given for any team coached by D'Antoni, the Knicks have been shooting horrible during this five-game losing streak. Against the Spurs the Knicks shot 38 percent from the field and have shot 42 percent during this current losing streak. To make it simple, if the Knicks cannot score, the Knicks cannot win.
With that being said, all the hype of the possibility of getting Carmelo Anthony, whether in a trade or in the offseason, is not going to make the Knicks better defensively. As a fan of the Knicks, we desperately need a defensive minded center. Amare is a power forward, not a center and is playing out of position. The Knicks will be a sixth or seventh seed in the east and lose in the first round, but the only way they can be a true contender in the future is getting a big man.
Up next for the Knicks is at Oklahoma City on Saturday, home against the Wizards on Monday, and home against the Miami Heat on Thursday. Can you say 1-2. I can.

Blake Griffins Monster Game!! in High Griffinition!!
Blake Griffin is at it again, the victim this time is the Indiana Pacers. In a close game the Clippers pull out a win against the Pacers 114-107. Griffins stat line speaks for itself.
47 points with 14 rebounds on 19 of 24 shooting from the field. His 47 points is the highest scoring total this season in the NBA!! Higher than Lebron, Kobe, Wade and everyone else.
He is 1 of 2 rookies to put up 40 points 10 rebounds in a game in the past 25 years!!! The other person was Shaq with the Magic in 1993. That is pretty good company if you ask me.
He is a human highlight reel creating posters by the minute. His tenacious dunks which are appealing to the human eye have earned him the nickname High Griffinition.
He has taking flight and is dominating in the NBA in his rookie season. Who knows what type of numbers he will be posting in the next couple of years. All I know is the "other team" in Los Angeles, the Clippers, won't be the other team in the city for much longer!!
Here's Blake Griffins top 10 dunks in the season thus far

Ravens once again fall short to the Steelers in the playoffs
In the first half, Balitmore seemed to be on the way to a huge victory over the AFC North champion Steelers as a forced fumble by Pro Bowl Linebacker Terell Suggs returned for a Touchdown by DE Corey Redding in the second half gave the Ravens a 21-7 lead with 14 points coming within 30 seconds.
However, the second half told another tale as 3 Raven turnovers in the 3rd quarter alone opended the door for the Steelers to comback and win the game 31-24 to move on to their 5th AFC championship game in 10 years.
Big Ben has proven once again he knows how to get it done in the postseason. Big Ben went 19/32 for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. His numbers werent staggering like Aaron Rodgers were but on a crucial 3rd and 18,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEqyFcChvAM his 58 yard strike to rookie Antonio Brown with less than two minutes to go set the Steelers up for the go ahead score.
As the Steelers were coming back in the second half, the Ravens could not function on offense. They had -4 yards on Offense in the third quarter. YES -4 Yards, you read that right. They ended up with a measly 28 yards of total offense in the second half.
With all that being said, Ravens still had last licks and on fourth down, Flacco throws a nice ball to a wideopen T.J. Houshmandzadeh who just flat out drops it. can't win football games dropping late passes at the end of the game, especially against a top knotch team like the Steelers. with mistakes like these it is no wonder why the Steelers are 9-0 in the playoffs against division teams. Steelers await the winner from the Jets/Patriots game. the game is at New England if the Patriots win and in Pittsburgh if the Jets win.
